Frequently Asked
Questions

We want you to feel informed and confident before you ever reach out.
Here are the questions we hear most answered honestly.
Wedding Officiant Questions
Do you require pre-marriage coaching before you'll marry us?
We highly recommend it because we believe the marriage is more important than the wedding. That said, it’s not strictly mandatory for all couples. We do want to set you up for long-term success, not just a beautiful ceremony day.
Can we write our own vows?
Absolutely. This is your day. We love helping couples craft vows that are meaningful and personal. We can provide guidance to get you started, or simply give you space to run with your own creativity.
Will you be at the rehearsal?
Yes rehearsal attendance is included in our Premium wedding package. We believe a smooth rehearsal leads to a stress-free wedding day, and we want to help make that happen.
How far do you travel?
We primarily serve the Mid-Atlantic region — Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, but we are also willing to travel outside our standard radius. Reach out and ask — we’re flexible when we can be!
Marriage Coaching Questions
Is marriage coaching the same as therapy?

Great question and an important distinction. Therapy often focuses on diagnosing mental health conditions or healing deep trauma. Coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. We help you identify where you are now, define where you want to be, and give you practical tools to bridge that gap.

We are not therapists and do not have clinical training, which is why we specifically offer coaching — not counseling. If we feel your situation requires clinical support, we have a network of trusted therapists we can refer you to.

Do we need to be in a "crisis" to sign up?
Absolutely not! In fact, the best time to work on your marriage is when things are “fine.” We work with many couples who just want a tune-up or want to deepen their connection. It’s easier to fix the roof when it’s sunny — not after the rain starts. That said, if the rain has already started, we’re here for that too.
Do you take insurance?
Because we offer coaching and ministry services rather than clinical medical therapy, we do not accept insurance. Our sessions are a private-pay service.
Is your coaching religious?
Yes — we are a Christian ministry, and our coaching is rooted in Biblical principles like grace, forgiveness, and selfless love. However, our tools are practical and effective for anyone. We welcome couples of all backgrounds who are open to honest conversation and practical growth. You don’t need to share our faith to benefit from our approach.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! We offer marriage coaching via virtual platforms for couples who are out of the area or have busy schedules. In-person sessions are preferred, but we’ll work with whatever makes sense for you.
The Pragma Difference
Why a husband-and-wife team?
Because you get double the perspective. In our coaching sessions, you hear from both a husband’s and a wife’s point of view.

We’ve found this helps “translate” misunderstandings and ensures that both partners feel truly heard and understood.

We can speak authentically not theoretically about what marriage looks like from both sides.
